Walk Through Bethlehem

Our church just finished our 2nd annual Walk Through Bethlehem. I love this ministry opportunity and the outreach to the community that it provides. It is amazing (through God alone) that a church our size can successfully pull off this event. There is so much work behind the scenes getting ready but it is so worth it.

When you walk into "Bethlehem" you truly feel like you are taking a trip back in time.....

The Roman Soldiers guarded the entry into the marketplace.
Upon entering the gates you must register for the census and watch out for the tax collector.
Once that is done then you can get on with your business in the market place there is so much to see and do......
You can visit the fruit stand and taste some samples.
Visit the jeweler and make some bracelets.
Make some bread at the bakers.

Make some candles at the candles at the candle maker's booth.
Visit the carpenter and place your order.

The Herb shop has some wonderful scented flowers. You can make a beautiful sachet to take with you. There is even a display of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Do you need some wool to make some clothes? You can die it here.
There were several other booths to visit as well (about 10 in all).

Shalom to the Priest and his scribe.

These 3 kings were walking around all evening.

Of course you must exit through the Inn keeper's door and you will be led out to the manger.

10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
(Luke 2:10-14)

These were some of the cutest shepherds out walking around. Anastasia made their costumes.
