Trying to get caught up

Wow, I am really behind on my blogging!  I have been away so long that the blogger format has even changed and I am going to have to figure it all out again. I am trying to get caught up in the next two weeks.  If I have any readers left, keep checking in the few weeks and there will be new posts.  Thanks!

Father's Day

Jay is such an amazing, incredible, fantastic dad and I am so grateful and blessed to be raising our 6 children with him!!!!  I love being on this journey of parenthood together with all its ups and downs, ins and outs.

Today we celebrated by going to church and then we came home grilled some steaks, went swimming and just relaxed.  This year the kids and I got Jay a new office chair and a backpack with a water holder for bike riding.

Swimming

It has been sooo much fun having our own  pool this summer!  This is the first time we have ever lived in a house with a pool and we love it!!   We have also taken safety and rules very seriously. So I was amazed that within a week of swimming Savannah and Alexa no longer needed swimmies. Natasha was not going to be left behind and by June she was also swimming with no swimmies!!!   Whoo hoo! So we now only have Jadon who can not swim on his own and hopefully that will change very soon.

Of course it was cold to go swimming when we first moved in but that didn't stop the kids.  They insisted they weren't cold as their lips were blue and teeth were chatting.  LOL  We usually go in once or twice a day and since our house faces east west the afternoons (after 3) are perfect for swimming.

Here are some fun pictures:

Natasha Birthday

Another birthday....this time for my sweet and sassy Natasha Grace!!  Natasha is so silly, feisty and full of life.  There is never a dull moment with her around! Natasha has been wanting to have a special day with both daddy and mommy (the kids each get one special day a month with daddy.  I will post about that later) and she had a whole list of places she wanted to go and restaurants she wanted to eat at.  LOL  So we decided to take her out for breakfast and then run some errands and then we got a smoothie.  If it was her choice she would have stayed out all day going from restaurant to restaurant.  :)

Over the weekend we had a party with family and friends.  It was very exciting for Natasha because from the Roger's she got her very first pair of skates!!

And from mommy and daddy she got a new bike!!!  We made her sit on the couch with her eyes closed while we wheeled in the bike.  Pure torture!  :)
