A Brave Little Girl

OH MY! Not a super soccer Saturday by any means! Joshua and Alexa finished their games and we just sat down to watch Natasha's game.  I was getting settled and looked to the field and Natasha was already falling down.  Now she is a tough little player who gives it all she has and does not push or shove anyone else.  Well, a little boy pushed her and she went down just right on her elbow.  At first I thought it was dislocated.  I had no choice but to make the poor girl walk to the car while we carried all the stuff.  We left right away and she was crying but not horrifically.  So I took her and the other two straight to urgent care (I should have went straight to the ER).  They did an Xray splinted it and told me I had to go to Cardon's children's hospital.  Surgery still did not cross my mind at all!
I dropped the other two off at home, called Jay and headed to the hospital.  Well to make her feel better (she wasn't crying anymore) we stopped at QT and got a slushie drink and cheetos.  We arrived at the hospital around 4 and Jay met us there.  They did another x-ray and said she would need surgery.  SURGERY??!!  They couldn't do it this late (and the fact that I had to admit we stopped for slushies and chips, mom of the year award right there!) Natasha and I were staying the night at the hospital!

Jay went home and got us an overnight bag and he stayed for awhile and then went home to stay with the other kids.  Things were put into perspective real quick when I realized they had put us on the kids cancer floor.  I was never so grateful to be there for just a broken bone!  The room was very nice.  We got to watch movies and snuggle.

Natasha finally fell asleep and they woke her up around 11pm to put in her IV.  They take kids out of the room for procedures.  She was a champ and got to pick a toy out of the toy closet.  Surgery was set for early the next morning.  Jay came back up that morning to wait with me.  Papa Jack and Grandma Carson were there too.

She is prepped and ready to go!

Understandably she had a pretty rough time after the surgery.  It took her awhile to come around and she was in a lot of pain.  As soon as she at some food and kept it down we were able to go home later that night.

She kept the splint on for about a week to allow swelling to go down.  Then it was cast time.  There were two temporary pins put in during surgery that would stay in the 6 weeks while she wore the cast.

Of course she picked pink and we blinged it all out.   It is going to be a long six weeks because she is fully mobile and thinks she can do more than she should do!  : )

Natasha Birthday

Another birthday....this time for my sweet and sassy Natasha Grace!!  Natasha is so silly, feisty and full of life.  There is never a dull moment with her around! Natasha has been wanting to have a special day with both daddy and mommy (the kids each get one special day a month with daddy.  I will post about that later) and she had a whole list of places she wanted to go and restaurants she wanted to eat at.  LOL  So we decided to take her out for breakfast and then run some errands and then we got a smoothie.  If it was her choice she would have stayed out all day going from restaurant to restaurant.  :)

Over the weekend we had a party with family and friends.  It was very exciting for Natasha because from the Roger's she got her very first pair of skates!!

And from mommy and daddy she got a new bike!!!  We made her sit on the couch with her eyes closed while we wheeled in the bike.  Pure torture!  :)

Da...Da...Da....Dora!

What an exciting morning in the life of a 2 year old! Natasha and I went to the zoo for a special breakfast with Dora The Explorer. To say that Natasha LOVES Dora is an understatement so when I found out she was coming to the zoo we just had to go. We had to sign up and pay extra (but we got a discount with our zoo membership) and this allowed us to show up to the zoo before it opened (at 7:00am, yes I said 7:00am which means we left our house at 6:00am) We had a breakfast, pictures with Dora and then fun playing with Fisher Price Toys. They sponsored the event. The best of all was that they had a raffle for about 12 baskets of toys and we won one!!!
Here is Tasha giving Dora a high five!

There was a whole area set up with toys and this is the one that Tasha went for! A guitar, guess you can't tell her daddy is a worship pastor ;) We might have to look for one of these for Christmas.

Here is the basket I won. It had a xylophone, kid tough binoculars, a magna doodle and a huge thing of Trio blocks.

Natasha loved petting the bunny and goat.

There was even a little course set up where the kids could pick a power wheel to ride around on. She of course picked the Dora Jeep.

What a great morning we had together!

Natasha's 2nd Birthday

It's official we have another 2year old in the house!!

It was time to celebrate around here once again. I took the kids shopping one morning so they could each pick out a gift for Tasha. It turned out to be a very Dora Birthday! Tasha loves (to say the least) Dora The Explorer! We came home and Anastasia made the cake. Then that evening we had a family birthday dinner. It was nice, no big fuss or mess and Natasha had a great time!

Natasha, you bring so much love and laughter into our family and are such a blessing to us all! We love you!!
