Skillet Concert

Ever since Jadon was three months old he has loved the band, Skillet. Three months old you ask? Yes! LOL. Jay would turn up the radio in the car when Jadon was crying and he would only calm down when Skillet was played. This continued on and we would actually play it as his "sleepy time" music. We could lay him down anywhere and as long as we played Skillet he would go to sleep! Now you can always hear him listening to their songs on YouTube while he plays Minecraft. :)
Today Jadon received the best early birthday present from his big Sissy! She was surprising him and taking him to his first ever concert, SKILLET!! When he posed for this first picture below he had no idea! He just thought he was going out with his Sissy. I made her promise to take lots of pictures and I screened shot some that she posted along the way.

What an awesome gift! We are trying to be creative and focus our gift giving on creating memories rather than collecting stuff. Well she hit it out of the park with this one!

It's my Birthday....

Today is my birthday and while I was lamenting, wishing I was back in Montana, where we celebrated last year, it still turned out to be a very nice day with my family. I always make a big deal out of my kids when it is their last day being a certain age. Well Alexa came into my room and wanted to take a selfie with me and then this is what she posted:  #lovethatgirl

I woke up to some WONDERful goodies and a fabulous cake made by Anastasia. It was a really nice day! We went to church, out to lunch, then Anastasia took me for a coffee. We drove around Saguaro Lake and found some wild horses and then went out to dinner
with Jutem and Jim. No cooking for me! Here's to another year! Thank you Lord for all your blessings!

Birthday

The middle of our 2nd week and it was time to take a day off!  :)  Birthdays are always a big deal around here!  My Lexilulu turned 11 today!

Here is our first picture of the day taken at 7:26 am (on 7/26). Out of the 6 she is the only kid I remember the exact time, I would have to look the others up. Scheduled c-section started at 7 she was out at 7:26 and it was July 26. Can't forget that one!

This year I treated each girl to a pedi and of course a Starbucks. It was a win for me too!  This was Alexa's first one ever. So much fun being spoiled.
Then she wanted to go to the mall with Jay and I and out to lunch at the Perch. While at the mall she finally got her ear's pierced. The older 2 girls got their's done when they were 5 but Alexa has no pain tolerance. I think it was good for her to wait and she was very surprised and said it didn't hurt. She picked some pretty cross earrings and it very excited!

Next up was lunch at the Perch. What a neat little restaurant! We definitely need to go back when the weather is cooler. They are a restaurant and they rescue birds. Right up Alexa's alley!

Even though they have long passed the ages 3,2,1 and now even 10,9,8; for the next two months they are once again my rocket ship....13, 12,11.
Alexa doesn't really like our traditional giant cookie or cake and because the weather is so hot we opted for fruit and stuck candles in a watermelon. She loved it!!  Then it was time for youth group. Tonight was the first night back, after a 5 week summer break, and Alexa is now officially part of it.

My Christ loving, crazy, wonderful, full of energy, great sense of humor, loving, hugging, tell you how it is, sweet Alexa......Happy Birthday!!!

Jadon's Birthday

My baby is SIX today and as child number six he is the perfect "caboose" for our family.  He is such a blessing and brings so much laughter to our family.  He fully likes his place as the "baby" of the family but watch out if you call him that.  ; )  Jay was out of town for his birthday but came home the next day.  So for Jadon's last night of being five he got to sleep with me.

Here he is on his last night of being five:

Now here he is as a six year old.  LOL  He got pretty spoiled this year with all the gifts he got for his birthday.  But his siblings didn't care they wanted to get the gifts for him.  I love their hearts for one another.

It was a Paw Patrol, Super hero, Imaginix kind of morning.
We hung out at the park with cousins (they are in town for Thanksgiving) and friends.  Then that night we had hot cocoa and watched our first Christmas movie of the season.  It was a great day celebrating Jadon.

But wait....there's more....Daddy got back in town the next day and we took Jadon out to breakfast.  It is our tradition to take the birthday child out to the restaurant of their choice.  Jadon wanted to go "where they make face pancakes" so Denny's it was.

Happy Birthday Jadon!  We love you and are so blessed God chose you for our family!

Jadon's party

My little guy is getting ready to turn SIX! I wanted to have a party while Jay was in town and Jadon's best little friend was here (his family is moving to Idaho for two years and we are going to miss them terribly.)  So we planned a zoo party two weeks before his actual birthday.  It was simple and fun, my kind of party!  We have a zoo pass and so do most of our friends so it is a great place to hang out with a big group of kids.  The funny thing is is when we go with a group of friends we usually don't see very many animals.  The kids like to go from playground area to playground area.  We usually just go back as a family and then we get to see a lot of the animals.

We all packed lunches and Anastasia made Minion cupcakes to celebrate with. Here are some pictures of all the little monkeys at the zoo.  :)

I think he had a pretty good time considering he passed out before we got out of the zoo parking lot!
