Vacation Bible School
Then Foothills church, which is right near us was having their VBS during the day so it worked perfect for us. All the kids except Jadon were able to attend and Anastasia was able to help as a worker in the craft area. It was great getting to know some of the people at Foothills as we are trying to build relationships with other churches in the area and this was a very positive experience.

Vacation Bible School
Hear It! Believe It! Connect It!
This year's VBS theme was "Big Apple Adventure" I normally love being a part of VBS. I have been involved in one form or another since Anastasia was in preschool. The last two years however have been disappointing from a leadership position. Thankfully the kids didn't know what was going on behind the scenes as there was major lack of organization and the fact that Jay and I had to "fight" our pastor (for the 2nd year in a row) about not allowing Mormons in any type of leadership role!!!Yes you read that right! CRAZY!!! I have nothing against them participating in our VBS as students but should not be in leadership.....Well more about that later.
I tried really hard not to let that steal my joy for being there with the kids. Anastasia and I were teaching 2nd graders and they were a wonderful group of kids.
So faith comes from what is heard, and what is heard comes through the message about Jesus Christ. — Romans 10:17 (HCSB)

Gotta Say Y-E-S to VBS

There are three things we do every summer.....swim, go to the movies, and Vacation Bible School. This year for VBS we were on Saddle Ridge Ranch, rounding up questions, driving home answers. This was the first year I did not teach a class in I don't know how long. I opted to just be a floater since I had both Natasha and Jadon to contend with. Well the Lord knew this needed to be the case because during VBS week the stomach bug decided to visit our house again! NOOOOO! Let's just say Tasha was having issues at both ends for most of the week and I will leave it at that and spare you the details. The other kids were fine and attended all week. They were fine until after parents night anyways and then both Savannah and Alexa spent the night taking turns throwing up in our bathroom. (I will be greatful that they were each able to make it to the bathroom! lol)
Anyways here are some cute pictures to share. Anastasia is already looking forward to next year because she will be old enough to be a helper so I told her I would teach and she could help decorate the room.

The Boomerang Express....It all comes back to Jesus
This year for Vacation Bible School we took a ride on the Boomerang Express all the way to Australia! We saw kangas, koalas, crocodiles, and sheep; we ate termite mounds, Kangaroo tails, and coober pedy pudding. The most important thing we learned was:
This is how God showed His love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him. 1 John 4:9
It was a rewarding, wonderful and exhausting week all at the same time! It started Saturday night with a kick off picnic and games and water jump things. The Kangaroo came to visit and stayed all week. Alexa was petrified of the kangaroo she cried if he was anywhere in site. This started on Saturday and continued till Wednesday.....
Then finally by parents night the next Saturday here she was:
Here are some more pictures of our week:
Anastasia's friend Rachel stayed with us all week. I am so bummed I didn't get pictures of her brothers. They stayed two nights with us for Joshua having his first sleep over with friend and they had so much fun together.
Be sure and look in my pouch! Cute!!!

This was my classroom with my koala in a tree! The most exciting news was I got the opportunity to pray with three of my students to except Christ as their Savior this week!!
Snack time! Kangaroo tails.
Going to class.
Arts and Crafts
Performing for parents night.

We've been in Hawaii this week
Did my title catch your attention??? Well we have been visiting Hawaii vicariously through our VBS. It has been exciting, fun, trying and exhausting all at the same time. We met Sunday morning and then Sun-Wed each night from 6:00-9:00pm. Jay and I taught the first and second graders. They were a great group of kids and we had a lot of fun island hopping with them learning all about God's unshakeable truth! I loved the music each night and I actually found it to start my playlist of music. It is very catchy and the "Wiki Wiki" song was my favorite. It covered the ABC's of Christianity.
Anastasia got called up on stage one evening to do the motions to the songs. She did awesome!!
Joshua with one of his dollars. Each evening the kids could earn dollars that they then put in a box to be drawn for a prize on family night.
Our mascot. She stayed with Jay and I kind of anyways when the other leaders weren't stealing her to hold.
Tonight was family night. We all met at a local park and our church hosted a cookout with two inflatable waterslide bouncers. The kids had a great time.
