Ocean lapbook Pictures

I finally got the kids Ocean lapbooks put together.  Here are some pictures.  I don't have any of Anastasia's yet.

These are pictures of Joshua's, his and Savannah's are the same except he has some reports in his.  Alexa's is just one folder and a few activities.

You can see in the upper left of the lap book I printed off a collage of pictures we had taken throught the unit of different activities that we did that would not fit in a lapbook.

This was a great unit and I was glad to have a PreK-2nd grade one and an upper elementary one.  It worked really well getting to teach them altogether but at their levels at the same time.  You can find these units at Hands of a Child.

Our Finished Lapbooks

We got behind this week with sickness.  Joshua is doing much better but Anastasia's sore throat is really hanging on and she even got pink eye today. So she did not get a lot of school work done this week.  She barely started on the American Revolution and she was supposed to finish it this week.  We are going to put it off though now till after our trip because we are going to do a 2 week unit study on Oceans and then a two week unit on Disneyland all leading up to our trip.

Here is Anastasia's lap book on Colonial America:

This lapbook was from Hands of a Child.

I also got the other kids 5 Senses lapbooks put together today.  They love looking at them and talking about all the activities they were so proud and wanted to carry them all around. I took pictures of Joshua's they are all the same.  I haven't put Alexa's together yet she didn't do all the activites but is asking for a book now.  I will put together what I have.  She will probably do this unit again in a couple of years when she is the oldest with Natasha and Jadon.

This was a made up lapbook from different things I have and came up with and also some worksheets from learningpage.com

I love Lapbooks

We are still working on the school room. My husband wants to move some furniture around when he gets home later today. So hopefully by tonight or tomorrw I will post after pictures.

I wanted to share about our lapbooks. I love doing them and so do my kids! I am going to add some links so you can check out some different sites that make and sell them or the templates. Do you lapbook? If so share with us some of your favorite sites as well.

I am addicted to Hands of a Child lapbooks (www.handsofachild.com). We have a lot of them and have completed several this year. (Genesis, Exodus, Ten Commandments, Thanksgiving, Valentines, Presidents, and Easter) We are finishing up the year with ones on plants and the farm. I also branched out on my own and had two of my younger kids make their own letter lapbooks. The items in here were from some great preschool websites that I will put links to as well. At the beginning of each year I have also had Anastasia make a lap book that includes her favorite things, sample of handwriting, things she did over the summer, etc. These are fun to look back at each year. Joshua will get to do one of these in the fall as he will be starting Kindergarten!!!

We also love to notebook and have a collection of great pages. Some one on one of my yahoogroups sent a great idea for putting lapbooks into 3-ring binders. Here is a link to her site so you can check out her pictures. This is a great way to store them. http://littlehomeschoolonthehill.com/category/great-ideas/
