Muffin Tin Monday (Tuesday for Us)

My kids absolutely LOVE when I do Muffin Tin Monday (Tuesday for us). I don't do it every week and some weeks there is no theme just whatever I have on hand and can go into the muffin tins!

This week for lunch one day I made some dip and searched the pantry and fridge for food they could stab and dip. I used gingerbread cups and toothpicks and they loved it!

A goal for me is to follow some of the themes and try and get a little more creative but right now I am glad my kids are simple and just get excited when I pull the muffin tins out to use.

Muffin Tin Monday

The first two weeks of school we have had "Muffin Tin Mondays" for more info and to join in the fun go here . My kids love when we do this for lunch. Anastasia always helps and the others aren't allowed to peak until the tins are at the table. The themes at MTM have been ABC's and numbers.
Our first picture is our muffin tin for ABC's. That week our letter of the week was "B". So all of the foods began with B....broccoli, banana, bacon, black berries, bell pepper, and bagel.

This week was numbers so each kid got 1 hot dog, 2 slices of pear, 3 Hershey kisses, 4 carrots, 5 pieces of string cheese and 6 grapes.

I love checking out the website and seeing all the neat ideas. I am hoping to get a bit more creative and ours will be once again "Muffin Tin Tuesday"since our co-op is on Monday's and we will be starting back on September 13.

Muffin Tin Monday (Tuesday for us)

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

This weeks theme was Fall Harvest/Halloween.  Anastasia helped me get it all together this week and we had fun.  We are going to have a special lunch or treat each day the rest of the week.

Here is our picture:

I have two pumpkin tins so the kids shared (Each got three)  Starting at the left we had spider creatures, fingers (half string cheese with bell pepper for the nail) and a witch's broom (pretzel with cheese whiz to hold on triscuit crackers)  In the next one was a pumpkin shaped grilled cheese sandwhich and in the last one was ghoul's soup with an eyeball (tomato soup with half an olive on a small piece of string cheese).

The kids loved it!!!

Muffin Tin Monday (Tuesday for Us)

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

This week's Muffin Tin theme was Kebabs. Click here to join in the fun.  I want to get some of the cute little skewers but we just used toothpicks for today.  The kids got carrots, cheese and ham, pineapple and peaches, cantaloupe and pears, strawberries, and green peppers.  They loved it and even had 2nd and 3rds.

Muffin Tin Monday (Tuesday for Us)

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

(I will still catch up on our vacation posts but I wanted to stay caught up with this week's muffin tin lunch) It is hosted on Mondays but we participate on Tuesday's because of our Co-op.

This week's theme was All About Me which ties in great to our lapbook. We are currently working on our All About Me lapbooks which we do each fall. So for the kids muffin tins I filled the cups with a variety of foods that they could use to build a person. They were very creative.

Each child gets 6 cups. So this picture above was for two of them.

This is Anastasia's creation.

Joshua's. The pepperoni's were clothes.

Muffin Tin Monday

Muffin Tin Monday at Her Cup Overfloweth

I came across this wonderful blog with this super fun idea of Muffin Tin Monday.  We finally participated this week but I did not realize there was a theme.  So I just used what I had on hand and the kids thought it was great fun.  But if you want to see some really creative ideas be sure and visit http://michellesjournalcorner.blogspot.com/

Here are some pictures of our first participation.  I can't wait to get more creative and see everyone's ideas.  However we will have to do ours on Tuesdays after our trip because  our co-op meets on Mondays.
