Snow Ball Fight---Arizona Style

What a fun afternoon we had Thursday with our homeschool group.  It was park day and we had a snowball fight....Arizona style.  My friend Kymberly invited our family to one on New Year's Day but we weren't able to make it.  It sounded like so much fun I was so glad when my hs group wanted to have one.  Several had participated in a Florida snowball fight.  So have I got you wondering what is a "Arizona Snowball Fight"?  Well scroll down and take a look at the great pictures:

Some of the kids couldn't see the point in throwing  a perfectly good marshmallow!  I love this picture!  (She threw plenty of marshmallows especially at me!!!)

We had a blast!  The kids were looking forward to it all week.  The moms even had fun!  We of course cleaned up all our marshmallows afterwards.  I don't think the kids getting ready to use the field for soccer practice would have likes marshmallows in their cleats!

A B See Photo Meme.....A

The kids are excited to do this and of course they want pictures of themselves when we get to the letter of their name.  So here are some pictures of Anastasia and Alexa.  Anastasia took these awhile ago while snuggling with Alexa her "Boo boos".  Even being 8 and a half years apart they have a great relationship and still play together.

A...A What begins with A?

Another Reason Why I Love Homeschooling!

Friday morning the kids got up and started their school work but I wanted to get out and do something so I said "Let's go to the zoo!"  We have annual passes so they were all excited because we hadn't been in awhile.  We invited my sister and they joined us.  While the rest of the country is having freezing weather and snow we have to take advantage of this beautiful 70' weather because come summer is when we will be hibernating in the house from the 115' weather!!  So we packed up some snacks and water and headed out.  This is one of many reasons I love homeschooling because we can do things like this on a whim.

Looking for ducks and turtles.

The new Discovery Farm area is great!  My kids love Little People.

We actually got to feed the stingrays this time.  It was so neat .  They would swim over our hand to get the food(dead fish) sticking up from our fingers.  Several came up and splashed Savannah!

Joshua was so excited he found a dinosaur to ride on the carousel.

Can you swing like a monkey?

Savannah's First Dance Class

We are finally able to sign Savannah up for a dance class.  She is so excited and absolutely loved it.  She had a hard time sleeping the night before and could barely take a nap before hand.  The picture above is what she wanted to wear to class. She has lots of tutu's and skirts and dancing things.  But I got her to "tone it down" some for her first class.   She is taking a tap, jazz, ballet combo and will even get to be in a recital in May or June.  The class is every Thursday and right now next Thursday seems like an eternity away for her!

In her tap shoes!

Carrying a bean bag between her knees across the floor.

Okay I could have taken a lot more pictures but I had to contain myself.  She was so cute and loved every minute of it.  (Alexa gets to take one next Wednesday!)

Can you say Paleontologist?

The kids have been learning the names of dinosaurs, how they are like reptiles, when God created them and all about their bones. Today we read Curious George's Dinosaur Discovery (Joshua loves Curious George). George went to a site to dig for dinosaur bones. After the story I told them they get to go hunt for dinosaur bones in our backyard. They were so excited. Anastasia even wanted to get in on the action. They all found a hat to wear and got their tools and off we went.

Wow look at all those bones!

Fitting them all together

Here are their discoveries:

How Time Flies

As most of you know I take pictures once a month of Natasha with a giant bunny. I have done this with all the girls except Anastasia (I didn't think of it). Well I was going through some pictures on the computer and found Joshua's, Savannah and Alexa's at 7 months as well and thought I would post them all. I will try and find some pics of Anastasia at this age and I will have to scan it in we didn't have a digital camera back then!
