Beach Camping Part 2

After Church Sunday we came back to Jutem's house, loaded up and headed out to South Carlsbad State Beach. It is only about 15 minutes from their house. The camping is up on a bluff above the beach. So we backed the motor home into our spot and this first picture here was our view from the bed of the motor home:

How incredible is that!

We got our camping area all set up and then took a walk down to the beach. We had to just stay at the bottom of the stairs because the tide was really coming in high and close.

Setting up Jutem and Brian's tent.

Our picnic table and fire pit.

Awww!

WA... WA... (Notice the jackets it was great!!)

Anastasia and Chance aren't they beautiful!!

My beautiful daughter

Going for our walk.

Down the steps to the ocean.

Sunday afternoon we only took a quick walk then came back up to watch the georgeous sunset. Brian grilled us some steaks, Jay played his guitar, we of course made s'mores and then we all went to bed pretty early.

Monday was filled with looong walks along the beach, roasting hot dogs, just hanging out and even napping. It was wonderful.

Notice our motor home at the top of this picture.

Beach Camping Is The Best!! (Part 1)

Isn't this beautiful?! We got to experience this georgeous sunset two nights in a row. (We would have glady experienced it many, many more!) We went beach camping for the first time and it was awesome. We headed over to San Diego early, early (like 4am early) on a Saturday morning. We were very blessed in being able to borrow a friend's motor home! The 4 big kids slept in it Friday night so Jay and and I just had to wake up, add two more sleeping children to the mix, and start driving. So even the trip driving over was adventerous. The kids of course thought it was great getting to walk around and I thought it was great not having to stop every hour for Alexa to use the potty! LOL

Waking up time to eat some breakfast.

Let sleeping babies sleep!!

Anastasia just relaxing!

Look at her hair! :)

Nap time.

We arrived to Jutem's early Saturday afternoon and spent the afternoon just hanging out.
She had a gift for each of the kids that they all eagerly opened:

They were beach towels that fold and turn into a backpack. She wrote each of the kids names on theirs. These are very cool!

Next we had to get pictures of all the cousins together. Chance was only going to get to stay with us until Sunday afternoon. They are acutally all looking the same direction in this picture. I don't have to tell you how many we had to take. :)

WOW 9 cousins from 2 siblings. There's no telling how many grandchildren Jay and I will have. LOL.

Sunday morning we all went to church together and here are some cute pictures of them all before church:

Stay tuned for part 2 of beach camping.....

"Crime and Punishment"

Photobucket

These two girls would not stop arguing and picking on one another. It was driving me CRAZY! So for their "punishment" they had to sit on the couch and hold hands until they could be nice to one another. It usually isn't long until they start hugging and giggling all though I must say today it took some time!!

Year End Awana Program

What a blessing it was to serve in our church's first year of Awana this year. It was a blessed opportunity for me to serve, to lead, and to bring the love of Christ to kids each week. Watching the kids memorize Scripture, books of the Bible and complete Psalms was incredible.

We held our year end program on May 16th and the kids worked really hard to get ready for it. They recited verses and sang some songs and even leaders got up and spoke about what Awana has meant to them this year.

I think it was a big success and did I get any pictures???? NO!!! I was leading the program and Jay was wrangling Tasha and Jadon the whole time and they weren't feeling that great. We have been fighting the stomach flu at our house for almost two weeks now! One person would get it and then another wouldn't get until two days later and so forth. Well I held out till just after the program and then I couldn't get home fast enough! YUCK.

So here are a few picture from the year and rehersal:

New Blog

I have decided to move my blog over here to Blogger. Homeschool blogger has gone through major changes and my template is all different and I am not sure how to get it all back. I am familiar with blogger so I thought I would just move here. I am trying to move all my old posts over. Does anyone know a quick way to do this? Anyways, when you visit you will want to scroll back some as I am trying to catch up as well and put things in date order.

Joshua has mastered the two-wheeler

Photobucket

When Joshua got a new bike from Papa and Grandma it was a two wheeler and he didn't know how to ride it. So we took a few days and took him to the park and he mastered it in no time. He did great (minus a few knee scrapes). The tricky part for him now is starting and then getting off the bike.
