You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. Deuteronomy 6:5-7
Today was our first day of school and I must say it was a great day. The most important part of my schedule was followed and that was my prayer time this morning with the Lord. It sets the tone for the rest of the day and I know this but why then is it so hard to stay consistent?! Jay also prayed for our school day last night and it was such a comfort.
We started our morning with breakfast (eggs and grits) and Bible study. We are doing character traits and the first one is obedience and the first verse they have to memorize is : Ephesians 6:1 Children obey your parents in the Lord for this is right! Isn't that a great verse!!
Next it was time for our treasure hunt:
A Treasure Hunt from Here to There
It’s the first day of school and learning is really cool.
This is a treasure hunt that is full of surprise.
If you all work together you will find the prize.
1. Let’s start with a sweet treat that can’t be beat.
You will find these in the kitchen in a place that can be full of heat.
You will find the next clue where you can climb, hide and slide.
3. Let’s go back inside where the next clue will try and hide.
This clue is on an animal that cannot move but has four hooves.
4. Now let’s kick it up a notch. You will have to be careful and watch for the next clue is written on blue. It’s in a place where you can wash your face.
5. Wow! You’ve made it this far! In order to finish you don’t need a car. But you must go from here to there as this is the last clue to be found anywhere. Go to the place where learning abounds and this is where your treasure will be found.
Joshua did great today and was very excited to start school. He is just getting so big! He did math, phonics, handwriting and worked on his All About Me lapbook. He thought for handwriting he was supposed to trace his hand.
5th Grader! (It seems like just yesterday she was my kindergartner)
I can't believe Anastasia is starting 5th grade!! She of course did great today as well. Anastasia started following her schedule and stayed pretty much on track today. We are easing into everything and still have a couple of weeks before our Co-op and PE starts.
Thank you Lord for a great first day.
