Valentines Fun

This year we got together with some friends here in Casa Grande to have a Valentine's Party and we introduced them to an Arizona snowball fight. We met at a park and had pizza for lunch. Then we exchanged Valentines, made a craft, played bingo, decorated cookies and had a snowball fight. Wow that was a lot to do in one afternoon. It was a lot of fun!

Passing out Valentines.

They loved decorating the cookies!

Natasha and her future husband! Yes we believe in arranged marriages. ;) Her and Matthew always share their sippy cups and snacks in church. It is so cute.

Pictures from our snowball fight. (For those of you who don't know....they are marshmallows)

Savannah just monkeying around.

The whole gang!

Blessings

This Friday and Saturday our church is hosting a garage/rummage sale. All the memebers have been bringing down stuff to sell and all of the proceedes will go to our building fund. It is all being set up in our "Bethlehem" structure. Well as things are being set up a lot of us are buying things from one another. Jay and I had said we were not allowed to look! We were only allowed to give things to sell (and boy did we purge!) Well how much could looking hurt ? I have been wanting a pretty sofa table. You know the kind that goes behind your couch and we have been in desperate need of a new bed for Jay and I. Our mattress is about 13 years old and it's time to be retired. Well we got both this weekend for a song. We also finally got an entertainment center for the tv and movies up in the playroom.

Jay was getting calls the last two days to help pick things up from people to bring down to the sale. One couple had a king size mattress, box springs and frame all in great condition, barely used. So that just saved us a bunch of money. Then I saw the sofa table and was very excited. We got it home and I was getting ready to put some candle holders and pretty things on it when my kids decided it was perfect to hold some sports figures that someone gave to them.

Okay so I had to take a picture but then I explained to them that this was my table to decorate and they need to pick a different place for their figures! Gotta love 'em.

Just had to share this picture

I just had to share this picture of our little monster precious Tasha! She is a ball of energy like no other. I love her to pieces and wish I had half of her energy but I have also been enjoying her nap times these past couple of months. This picture just shows her personality (and the fact that I need to cut her bangs) and she was making her "monster" face. There is a song from the band Skillet called "I feel like a monster" and she sings that song and makes the monster noise "RAAAAA". It is so funny. I finally got it on video. So I saw this picture and just thought I would share.

Life Lessons

puppy and kitten

We found two lost animals in one week and the kids were so disappointed we didn't get to keep either. Monday morning we found a kitten in our back yard and was not sure how he got there. We left for co-op and Jay and I were figuring it would be gone before we returned but no he was still in the back yard when we arrived back home . Savannah was so thrilled and Jay told them don't touch it, don't feed it, don't let it in the house! LOL (big meanie) Anastasia went around the neighborhood to see if anyone was missing a cat and she found the owners. (I was glad because I did not want another cat) Then Thursday, Jay was over by our Pastor's home and saw a puppy in the middle of road. He called me and actually asked to bring it home. The same man who proclaims he doesn't care for animals. I did not want a puppy but oh my he was adorable and the kids instantly fell in love with it even after I warned them we need to try and find the owner. Well within the hour the owner was found and I think we were all a little sad. We didn't get any pictures of the kitten but here is one of the puppy.

Isn't he adorable!!

Now the kids are constantly looking for more strays out wandering around.

Preschool Letter of the Week...V

This week (or I should say week and a half) we focused on the letter V for Valentines. I printed out the activities from www.confessionsofahomeschooler.com once again. The girls loved them and even Joshua did some of the activities this week.

The girls loved doing their number activities using the little heart candies this week.

For Joshua I printed off a bar graph. So he had to sort, count and then graph his heart candies.

The kids loved this painting activity. I mixed our pink and white paint together and got out all of our heart cookie cutters (I even found the letter V and a pair of lips) and they made Valentine's paintings.

Happy Birthday to my Hubby!

Happy, Happy Birthday!!

Today is Jay's birthday and we all spent the day together.  There are several websites you can google for free things on your birthday, so we looked some up and took advantage of a couple.  We took daddy to Denny's for breakfast.  Jay got a free grandslam and we also had a 20% off coupon for the rest of us.  SCORE!

These are birthday cards the kids made.

After breakfast we went over to Target so the kids could pick out their Valentine's cards.  Jay tried to get a free coffee at Starbucks but they said you needed an online print off.  When we were done there  we drove to Krispe Kreme to get a free dozen donuts and we bought a dozen.  We brought them home to eat and then I think everyone had a sugar coma.  LOL    We have not had a lot of sugar for quite awhile.  For dinner we made up for the junkfood and had yummy salmon with brown rice, veggies  and a nice big salad.

I think it was a nice day and I am glad Jay chose to spend it with us!

Love Ya Honey!

PS- Jadon's toes are slowly starting to look better.

A trip to the ER

Let me start by saying that Jadon is completly fine (Thank the Lord). Wednesday morning started like anyother morning:everyone getting up, dressed and getting breakfast. Jay was supposed to take Anastasia to a chiropractor appt but he couldn't find his wallet. So we were all looking for it (he left it at church we later discovered ) Jadon was in his swing and getting fussy so Anastasia picked him up. Whenever she holds him she likes to play with his feet. She touched his right foot and yelled for Jay and I. There was a hair wrapped around two of his toes (each toe seperately) it was cutting off the circulation. Jay grabbed him and tried to get it off, he couldn't we tried scissors and tweezers and it was just getting worse. The toes were swelling and turning purple. Finally after debating for only a couple minutes I called 911. Jay did manage to get the hair off before they got here but Jadon's poor toes looked horrible like one might come off (although they were both fully attached.) The paramedics suggested that we still go to the hospital to let them check and make sure we got everything and to watch the circulation. So Jadon and I got to ride in the ambulance and Jay followed behind. We stayed for about an hour and a half and the doctors and nurses kept checking Jadon's toes and they started to look a little better. They sent us home and told us to just keep watching but he should be fine.

So after six kids this was a new one for us but at the hospital they told us it has happened more often than we might think. As a note to all you with newborns expecially boys the doctor told us it also happens where a hair might fall in a diaper while changing and can get wrapped around little boy parts. Okay so I am glad it was his toes. Now we will be constantly checking for hair.

Yes, I carry the camera in the diaper bag. I really wanted to take a picture of him in his car seat on the gurney but I didn't. I kept trying to get a picture of his toes but Jadon kept wiggling and it wouldn't turn out. He was oblivious to all the fuss
