The Pumpkin Patch

On Sunday we took our annual trip to a pumpkin patch.  For years (since Anastasia was a baby)we have always gone to Young's Farm up in Dewy, Az but sadly it closed down about two years ago and we have been at a loss.  So this year we decided to make the drive Wilcox (about 3hrs. away) to visit Apple Annie’s Orchard and Pumpkin patch.    It was a great day to go the weather had literally got cold overnight and I had to dig through tubs in the garage to get jeans for the girls to wear.  We finally left about 8:30  and made it up there just before noon.  The kids ride really well in the car so that makes it easy.  We packed a picnic lunch and ate it first as soon as we got there.  Then it was off to see the pumpkins and produce.Lunch time

There was a sunflower garden that the kids loved walking through.  It was so beautiful.

Alexa spotted the hay ride and kept saying "I do that, I do that!" and she would not stop.  It was funny.  So we finally got on the hay ride to take us out to the pumpkins.

I found one mom and dad!

It's so bright I gotta wear shades!

This is the pumpkin that Savannah loved and wanted to get.  Anastasia and Joshua being the loving supporting siblings said it looked like a "butt pumpkin"    NICE!!!

Natasha enjoyed her first trip to the pumpkin patch!

Our little Pumpkin!

The posers

After the pumpkin patch we went over to the apple orchard but much to our dismay there were no apples left on the trees!!!  The kids were still excited to see apple trees after doing our unit on Johnny Appleseed.

They loved the apple pickers.

Joshua actually found one good apple on the ground.  So daddy and him took it up to ask about it and it was a good apple and cost .24cents. He was so excited about his apple!

Well on the way home while Joshua was sleeping Savannah got a hold of his apple!!  But by time we got home it was so late he didn't even ask about it.

I just thought this was a funny sign and took a picture.  I don't think I would have stopped at this place though.  It looked a little scary.

On the way home outside of Tucson we stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner.  I love the store in that place!!!

We had a great family day and got back home around 10:00pm.
