We got a lot done this week!!! Monday we didn't do any formal schooling. This was the week off for co-op so there was a field trip to the AZ. Science Museum that Anastasia went to with Claudia and her girls. The rest of us just stayed home and recouped from the party!! We turned Joshua's train table into a "lego table" and set up some of his new lego stuff. The kids love playing with the legos!! Then later the girls helped me make meatballs with some ground beef that I needed to use up. They had so much fun helping!
(These were just for our family not for swapping! LOL)
Tuesday we had school work to get done and PE. Then after naps I made some pumpkin cookies. Nothing fancy just the peel and bake kind but the kids still loved them! I have had my apple spice and pumpkin candles going (at different times of course) and at least it feels like fall inside the house!! Tuesday night we had church.
Wednesday morning I had to run some errands and then the rest of Wednesday and Thursday were just regular school days. I finally got pictures of Joshua and Savannah's Johnny Appleseed lapbooks and they are posted below. They are now starting a unit on Fairy Tales. We are doing the Three Little Pigs this week. With Ms. Tina we will read "The Little Red Hen" and bake bread and we also get to go see the puppet show of it at the Great Arizona Puppet Theater. Then we will spend the rest of the month doing pumpkin and harvest activities!!! I can't wait I love fall!
Anastasia is still working on Explorers. It is taking a lot longer than I expected but she is learning alot!! She has read 3 biographies so far and has learned about 11 different explorers. Hopefully this next week it will be finished and we will get her lapbook all together. I ordered her spelling and bible curriculum and they finally came in so we started that this week. I really like the Bible study it is God's Amazing Creation in the Discover4Yourself Inductive Bible studies for kids series by Kay Arthur and Janna Arndt. She really likes it. I didn't purchase them here but it gives a description.
Friday we got done with school early and so we made pumpkin playdough (recipe below) and got out all of our fall decorations. The weather is supposed to cool off this weekend!!!
Below are some pics of our fall decorations
